π Heartfelt Tribute to Finbar Sullivan π

In a moving vigil, hundreds gathered at Primrose Hill to honour the memory of 21-year-old filmmaking student Finbar Sullivan, who tragically lost his life earlier this month. Among those paying tribute was none other than Graham “Suggs” McPherson from Madness, who performed “It Must Be Love” as balloons soared into the evening sky.

The gathering was a testament to Finbar’s impact, drawing notable figures like Paul Weller, Kevin Rowland of Dexys Midnight Runners, Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream, and Glen Matlock of The Sex Pistols. It was an emotional evening filled with music, memories, and a solemn minute’s silence, as friends and family came together to remember “Fin,” a student of the London Screen Academy and a beloved son.
Flowers, candles, and photographs adorned the park, while heartfelt notes like “RIP Sully” fluttered gently in the breeze. Finbar’s father, Chris Sullivan, a respected club promoter, shared stories of his sonβs dreams and aspirations, highlighting his love for film and the joyful spirit that attracted people to him.
Chris reflected on the diverse crowd and expressed his hope that Finbar’s legacy would live on through unity, love, and peace. “He was full of jokes and really loving,” Chris said. “Losing him feels like having both your legs cut off; the pain is tangible and enduring.”
Finbar’s legacy extends to his creative collaboration with Joe Corre, Vivienne Westwood’s son, marking just one of the many creative paths he had set out on.
The vigil served as a powerful reminder of the community’s love and support in the face of senseless tragedy. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this devastating incident. π
