**Local Shopkeeper Faces Jail After Sword Incident**

In an unusual turn of events in Solihull, shopkeeper Daminda Heradh is facing potential jail time after taking drastic measures to deal with persistent harassment from local youths. For weeks, Heradh endured relentless abuse at his supermarket, which led to a fateful decision: he chased a youth with a golden-handled sword in an attempt to scare them off.

Caught on video, the 49-year-old’s actions have resulted in a guilty plea for possession of a knife or sharp object. Although Heradh has no previous convictions and is known for his good character, the court has warned that he could be facing a custodial sentence, with sentencing scheduled for August.

His lawyer, Naseer Adalat, highlighted the ongoing harassment Heradh faced, stressing it was a desperate move to protect his business. “This is a one-off incident,” Adalat remarked, “He’s recognised his mistake after being driven crazy by weeks of abuse.”
While awaiting further court proceedings, Heradh has been released on unconditional bail. The situation has sparked conversations about self-defence and community dynamics. What are your thoughts on the lengths this shopkeeper went to protect his livelihood?
