This weekend, sands turned to spectacle at Pembrey Country Park as cyclists took on the epic Battle on the Beach! With hundreds of riders racing across stunning Welsh sands, it was truly a sight to behold. 🇬🇧
Started in 2014, this off-road race has become the UK’s largest and most unique, attracting cyclists of every stripe. Whether you’re a seasoned hill climber or just enjoy a mad dash across the sands, this event welcomes all. From young starters to grand veterans, there’s space for everyone under the Welsh sun—or, this year, under some moodier skies! ☁️
Riders took off, tyres skimming the 5-kilometre beach stretch before plunging into the park’s challenging climbs and trails. Amid tunnels and bunkers, remnants of the area’s past as a munitions factory, the route delivered history with every pedal.
Cheers echoed from the shoreline as families, furry friends, and even a band whipped up the atmosphere. With grit and determination, cyclists powered through sandy patches and tackled a variety of terrains, vying for the top spot.
The spotlight fell on Jenson Young, Spencer Corder, and Tom Couzens as they claimed the top three positions. 🏅🏅🏅
