🚗 BREAKING: Big Debate Over Driving Age! 🚗

New research has got Brits talking! Over a third (36%) support increasing the legal driving age from 17 to 18, sparking lively discussions across the country. Currently, you can hit the road at 17 with a provisional licence, but many are questioning if that’s too young.

While some argue that learning to drive earlier helps build responsibility, there’s hesitation—especially from parents—about safety on the roads. In fact, only 28% support lowering the age, while 55% prefer keeping it at 17.
Despite the debate, 44% acknowledge that allowing younger learners could help them gain vital skills before adulthood, yet there’s still a strong sentiment towards prioritising safety. Tom Banks from Go.Compare points out that while some see the benefits, the majority are not ready to shift the age just yet.
What do you think? Should the legal driving age be increased, lowered, or kept the same? Let us know in the comments! 🚦🔑 #DrivingDebate #RoadSafety #UKNews
