🎉 Wales Rugby Triumphs After 1,099 Days! 🎉
This weekend was one to remember as Wales finally broke their Six Nations drought with a 31-17 victory over Italy at the Principality Stadium! Although it wasn’t enough to avoid a third Wooden Spoon in a row, there were plenty of standout performances. Let’s dive into the winners and losers of the match! 🏉
🏅 **Winners:**
1. **Dewi Lake**: After some tough times, this hooker led by example, fixing lineouts and bringing impressive physicality to the match. A well-deserved celebration for Dewi as the Six Nations victory was much-awaited.
2. **Aaron Wainwright**: With a stellar all-championship performance, this backrower claimed the player of the match. Wainwright’s strong carries and two tries make him a vital player for Wales moving forward.
3. **Ben Carter**: Finally claiming his place in the starting XV, Carter impressed with his lineout management and overall performance on the field. His consistency looks promising for Wales’ future games.
4. **James Botham**: Stepping in for Jac Morgan, Botham excelled on the field with his physicality and top-notch tackling, proving invaluable in the victory over Italy.
🤦♂️ **Losers:**
1. **Italy**: After a historic win over England, the Azzurri couldn’t replicate their form against Wales, facing a spirited home side and crowd.
2. **Dave Reddin**: Under fire for his restructuring plans for Welsh rugby, his interview left much to be desired on social media, with Welsh legend Alun Wyn Jones critiquing the communication of the changes rather than the changes themselves.
3. **Scarlets**: Suffering a tough 31-14 defeat to Connacht in the United Rugby Championship, they must bolster their pack for a better performance next season.
