Almost half of Brits are proud to wear the title of ‘Chief Vacation Officer’ in their friendship group! 🎉 A survey of 2,000 UK adults revealed that on every group holiday, there’s always that one person who transforms holiday dreams into reality. If you’re the one who starts the group chat, finds the perfect destination, and keeps everyone on track with payments and plans, then you’re the unsung hero of your trips!

The survey also identified six main personalities on group holidays. From the ‘Busy Bee’, who’s perpetually unavailable, to the ‘Ghost’ who reappears at the airport, it’s a diverse crew. There’s also the ‘Snap Happy One’, capturing every moment, and the ‘Fluent-ish Friend’, bravely attempting to speak the local lingo.
The research, backed by Samsung, shows how crucial the CVO’s role is, with 64% insisting a trip wouldn’t happen without them. Admittedly, only 53% of the organisers feel appreciated for their efforts. But the joy of a perfectly planned holiday is worth it, right? 😉

With travel planning growing more complex, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7 promises to make things smoother with its Multi Window feature. Vicky Pattison, a self-proclaimed CVO, shares her insights, highlighting how phones have become essential for planning, whether it’s by sorting dates, scouting hotels, or tracking payments.
Gen Z and others are getting creative, squeezing in planning sessions during lunch breaks or while commuting. Surprisingly, 67% rely on their phones to organise everything, using social media for destination inspo and even AI tools for itinerary tips.
The biggest headaches? Synchronising dates, finding lodging, and gathering passport info. Many wish for tools that display flights, hotels, and chats side by side, which could encourage more to take on the planner role for future adventures.
So, who’s the CVO in your group, and how do you handle the planning challenges? Share your tips and travel tales below! 🌍✈️📅
