A terrifying ordeal unfolded in Carmarthenshire as a woman feared for her life during a brutal attack by her ex-partner, Adam Edwards. It all started when Edwards became enraged upon seeing her shopping for clothes online—a simple act that escalated into a nightmare. The court heard how the altercation began at Edwards’ business unit and continued relentlessly, with him preventing her escape, leaving her bruised and terrified.

The chilling climax came when Edwards, in a fit of rage, placed his hands around her throat, warning her ominously, “This is your warning.” The attack was so severe that neighbours noticed and gathered outside, prompting Edwards to falsely accuse the victim of having mental health issues. Fortunately, the police intervened, arresting Edwards and putting an end to the violence.

At Swansea Crown Court, the victim expressed the harrowing impact of the assault, stating she regularly relives those horrifying moments and has since fortified her home with new security measures. Despite the challenges, she remains determined to heal over time.
Edwards, now residing in Briton Ferry, admitted to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. With a sentencing that includes a suspended 16-month prison term and a restraining order, the judge emphasised the seriousness of his actions, highlighting the concerning patterns of violence.
