Heartbreaking news from Pencoed as Liam Walters, 27, appeared in Newport Crown Court charged with the murder of beloved father-of-four, David Rogers. Known to many as “Disco Dave,” David was a devoted dad, brother, and son who touched countless lives. After a reported assault in Bridgend, David was taken to hospital in critical condition but sadly passed away.
David’s family remembers him as a proud father to his four sons and a cherished sibling and son. His partner, Abbie, shared heartfelt words, calling David her “forever and best friend.” The void left behind by his tragic passing is deeply felt by all who knew him. David’s love for overseas adventures, golf at Vale Resort, and making lasting memories with family and friends will never be forgotten.
Liam Walters did not enter a plea and is set to appear in court again on April 1 for a plea and trial preparation hearing, with a trial date provisionally set for August 17. For now, he remains in custody.
Detectives continue to investigate and urge anyone who was near Felindre Road, Pencoed, early on February 28 to come forward with information. You can contact police on 101, quoting reference 2600063517.
