Exciting news from Swansea City! 🎉 The Swans have unveiled their new coaching team, with some notable names joining the ranks. First up, we have Ryan Maye, a huge coup from Aston Villa, bringing his expertise as the new assistant head coach. Ryan’s impressive CV includes stints at Chelsea, Rangers, and West Brom. He’s helped nurture talents like Morgan Rogers and Tim Iroegbunam, while also leading Villa’s under-18s to a memorable youth treble. 🏆
Joining him are Toze Mendes, boasting over 20 years in player development with roles from Vitoria SC to Malta’s national setup; and Goncalo Ricca, a former analyst for top clubs like Marseille and Real Madrid. We’re also set to welcome Diogo Medeiros shortly, following his time at Porto and Santa Clara.
In a nod to continuity, Swans legends Leon Britton and Joe Allen will remain as part of the coaching crew, having done a stellar job in the interim.
This star-studded team comes together after some Brexit-related delays, but Swansea City’s chief executive is thrilled with the new additions, emphasising the club’s gratitude to all involved, notably existing staff like Martyn Margetson and Kris O’Leary. With upcoming fixtures on the horizon, this bolstered team couldn’t arrive at a better time. ⚽️
