Swansea City put up a valiant effort but unfortunately suffered a 2-1 defeat against Preston North End. Despite goals from Preston’s Thierry Small and Milutin Osmajic, Eom Jisung’s late strike brought hope, but it wasn’t quite enough for the Swans.
Here’s a quick rundown of the player performances:
– **Lawrence Vigouroux (6/10):** Didn’t face much action but pulled off a brilliant save to keep the scoreline respectable.
– **Josh Key (5/10):** Made some promising runs forward but could’ve done better in defence for the second goal.
– **Ben Cabango (5/10):** Had a slip-up that luckily went unpunished by Preston.
– **Cameron Burgess (7/10):** Stood strong at the back and posed a threat on set pieces, earning a solid performance rating.
– **Kaelan Casey (6/10):** Shared some responsibility for the opener but was generally solid.
– **Josh Tymon (6/10):** Delivered some dangerous balls and showed energy throughout.
– **Goncalo Franco (5/10):** A quieter night that ended with a substitution.
– **Ethan Galbraith (7/10):** Star of the night! His vision and ability to switch play made him stand out.
– **Melker Widell (6/10):** His energy on the right was commendable but lacked the final product.
– **Adam Idah (6/10):** Tireless work rate, but finishing was just off.
– **Liam Cullen (5/10):** Couldn’t find his rhythm despite a first-half chance.
The substitutes added some spark, especially Ishe Samuels-Smith, who set up Eom Jisung for his goal, and Eom himself, who finished with class. Better luck next time, Swans! Keep your heads up! #SwanseaCity #ComeOnYouSwans 🦢⚽
