Exciting times for Swansea! 🎉 The multi-storey car park near Tesco on Oystermouth Road is finally nearing completion after a four-year delay. Part of the impressive £135m Copr Bay project, this car park also boasts five snazzy retail units. 🛍️

The delay came after the original contractor went bust in 2023, but the council pulled through by appointing a new company to finish the job. Now, there’s talk of an opening date being announced very soon! 🚗

Council leader Rob Stewart assures us that money was wisely set aside in the Copr Bay contract to cover any unexpected costs. Plus, a handy £4.8m grant from the Welsh Government has helped things along. 📅
Curious about those retail units? Lee Richards from the council’s regeneration team mentioned they’re already seeing “very strong” interest in two of them. Who knows, your new favourite shop might just be around the corner!
Elsewhere in Swansea, plans are underway to transform the Civic Centre into a buzzing hub of housing, retail, and culture, and a new public sector office hub is set to rise on the old St David’s shopping centre site by early 2028. 🏗️
And if that’s not enough, Skyline Enterprises plans to open a leisure attraction on Kilvey Hill the same year! 🎢
