Keeper’s Pond, one of South Wales’ favourite beauty spots and swimming destinations, is temporarily closed. But don’t worry—it’s all for a crucial cause! This stunning location, nestled in the heart of the Blorenge, is currently serving as a vital water source for firefighters battling a major wildfire on Mynydd Garnclochdy. 🌲🔥

Traffic Updates
The blaze, which has been raging across more than 200 hectares since July 19, poses a significant challenge for emergency crews due to the steep and dry terrain. Firefighters are drawing water from Keeper’s Pond to help control the flames and protect the beautiful landscape we all love. 💧🚒

Traffic Updates
The Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority has shut the car park and access to the pond to ensure the safety of visitors and to facilitate the emergency operations. It’s essential that everyone stays clear of the area to provide firefighters unrestricted access and help them do their vital work.

The brave teams continue to work tirelessly to bring the fire under control, and frequent updates on the reopening will be shared as soon as it’s safe. The National Park Authority thanks everyone for their cooperation and understanding during this critical time.

Stay safe, and let’s all do our part by keeping away until further notice. Together, we can help save the natural beauty of South Wales! 🌿💪
