An evening out turned dire in Ystrad Mynach on Wednesday when an 18-year-old man was left critically injured following a medical emergency. 🚨 Emergency services rushed to Penallta Rocks around 8:45 pm, quickly joined by Gwent Police and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
Witnesses reported the scene was buzzing with activity for about three hours. The young man was swiftly taken to the hospital, where he is currently fighting for his life.
A spokesperson from Gwent Police confirmed: “Officers attended alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.” Meanwhile, the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service reported receiving a call around 9:13 pm, dispatching assistance from Aberbargoed and Caerphilly stations.
