🎾 Wimbledon Drama Alert! 🎾

Yesterday’s men’s doubles semi-final at Wimbledon took an unexpected turn when play was paused due to a medical emergency in the stands. With temperatures soaring to 33 degrees, the tense match between pairs Marcelo Arevalo & Mate Pavic and Kevin Krawietz & Tim Puetz was halted at 1-1 in the second set as medics rushed to assist a spectator who had fallen ill.

Umpire James Keothavong reassured the players and crowd, saying, “We’re just going to pause. A fellow spectator requires medical assistance at the top.” Both sets of players showed great sportsmanship, waiting patiently by the net until given the all-clear to resume the match.
Once the situation was under control, the game resumed with Arevalo and Pavic quickly finding their rhythm. They triumphed over their opponents in straight sets, with the first set going to a tiebreak and the second finishing with four consecutive games won. They’ve booked their spot in the final!
Up next for Arevalo & Pavic is a face-off against the winners of the Henry Patten & Harri Heliovaara vs. Aleksandar Kovacevic & Thanasi Kokkinakis clash, scheduled later in the afternoon.
