😱 Drama in Ibiza as Rocks Crash Down on Hotel! 🌧️
In a shocking turn of events, the picturesque island of Ibiza turned into a scene of chaos after rocks from a hillside collapsed, crashing onto the four-star Vibra Tropical Garden Apartments. The freak accident, triggered by heavy rainfall, has left three people injured and four others trapped at the hotel. Video footage captures the terrifying moment, with a holidaymaker audibly exclaiming “Oh my God” as the rocks tumbled down.
Located just a stone’s throw away from Figueretas beach, the hotel had to evacuate all its 220 guests to nearby accommodations in Playa d’en Bossa. The injuries were fortunately not severe — two were treated on-site, while one was taken to a nearby hospital. Miraculously, one of the trapped guests emerged unscathed.
The island has been under a severe weather warning, with the downpour wreaking havoc across the region. Elsewhere in Ibiza, other dramatic rescues unfolded. A pensioner sustained a leg fracture after falling into a storm-disrupted drain, while sections of the road to the airport closed due to flooding, forcing travellers to wade through water and adding hours to normally short journeys.
Ibiza Airport wasn’t spared either, with water pouring through the terminal roof. Despite the chaos, flights did manage to take off, albeit with delays. Meanwhile, workers at the luxurious Pacha Hotel desperately battled water-inflicted damage as the ceiling gave way in places. British tourists took to social media, with one writing: “Brilliant…check-in in 10 days.”
With emergency responders flying in from the mainland and the military stepping in, the situation showed signs of stabilising by evening. However, schools remain closed as cleanup efforts continue. Wayne Lineker, owner of O Beach Club, found himself stranded by the floodwaters, humorously sharing his ordeal on Instagram.
