Heartbreaking news from Mountain Ash, South Wales, where ASD Rainbows, a cherished local charity supporting autistic children and their families, suffered a devastating break-in. This happened in broad daylight, with the intruder making a hole in the wall to bypass secured windows and doors, and targeting the nursery’s office directly.

The charity, known for providing vital support to over 100 families, is reeling from the loss of iPads, crucial for the children’s communication, and cash meant for a much-anticipated Christmas trip. Co-founder Joanne Morris described the situation as devastating, lamenting how “the children’s voices” were effectively stolen.

In the wake of the robbery, the community has shown immense solidarity. A GoFundMe campaign has already raised £5,500 in under 24 hours to help replace the stolen items and repair damages. Ms Morris expressed her gratitude, saying it’s “heartwarming to see how much everyone is pulling together.”
Authorities are investigating the break-in, which occurred between 12:20 and 12:50 pm last Saturday, December 6. South Wales Police have appealed for help, seeking to identify a man seen in the area at the time. If you recognize the individual or have any information, please reach out to the police.
The story underscores the importance of community spirit, especially when times are toughest. It’s a powerful reminder of how kindness and collective effort can shine through adversity. Let’s keep the momentum going—if you can, consider supporting ASD Rainbows in any way possible.
