A trip to Bridgend’s Bryngarw Country Park turned distressing when a three-year-old from Newport ended up in hospital following a water incident. At around 2.40pm on Saturday, emergency services rushed to the park after receiving reports of a child having difficulty in a body of water.

Thanks to the quick thinking of a bystander who performed CPR before help arrived, the little boy was stabilised by the time paramedics transported him to the hospital.

South Wales Police have launched an investigation to get to the bottom of what happened. Our thoughts are with the young child and family, hoping for a speedy recovery.
