The competition was nothing short of fierce, showcasing choirs from Seattle, New York, Ukraine, and beyond. But it was Côr Iau ABC’s breathtaking renditions of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “Nôl i’r Ysgol” that captivated the judges and audience alike, clinching the highest score of the day and earning them a place in the final showdown. 🎤✨

Elin, brimming with pride yet still in disbelief, had to quickly arrange for the children to stay on for the evening competition – and it was well worth it! Not only did these young stars shine brightest in the pavilion, but Elin herself was honoured with the Conductors’ Prize for her inspiring leadership.

Reflecting on their unexpected triumph, Elin shared, “I couldn’t be prouder. It wasn’t because I didn’t have faith – it just seemed out of reach because the standards here are so incredibly high.” Her connection to Llangollen is deeply personal, having competed in the event herself in years gone by.

One of the adjudicators from France even marveled at the discipline and cohesion of such a young ensemble, amazed they only rehearse once a week! 🎶👏

Let’s hear it for Côr Iau ABC and their electrifying journey to the top of the world stage – proof that dreams can come true! 🌟🙌 #PrideofWales #YoungChoirOfTheWorld #LlangollenEisteddfod
