The 36-year-old man lost his life on Carrer de Balmes, right in front of a busy National Police office. It’s reported that the victim, who hails from Dublin’s north inner city, died from a gunshot wound to the head, with the assailant swiftly fleeing the scene.
Witnesses and locals are reeling from the incident, while police work tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspect. Forensic officers set up a tent on-site as investigators meticulously combed the area for clues. Reports indicate that CCTV footage has been released, and the murder weapon was found hidden nearby at a bus stop.
A woman discovered the body and alerted the authorities. Back home, a neighbour in Dublin described the victim’s family as “highly respected” and expressed sorrow over the loss. The brother, celebrated for his contributions to Irish sports, has deeply impacted those around him.
