Tragic incident near Abergavenny railway station: A person sadly lost their life on the tracks on Saturday evening, causing quite a bit of chaos for train travellers. Emergency services, including the British Transport Police and paramedics, were on the scene after reports came in around 6.30 pm. The death is not being treated as suspicious, but it did lead to significant delays.

Train services were disrupted, with some delays stretching up to 90 minutes, and several cancellations as authorities managed the situation. Rail operators like Transport for Wales and National Rail quickly advised passengers to check their routes and factor in extra travel time.

Good news is, after the emergency response concluded, trains are now back on track. If your journey was delayed by over 15 minutes, don’t forget you might be able to claim compensation. Make sure to check the Delay Repay schemes on the respective websites for more details.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident, and we appreciate the patience shown by travellers during the disruption. Stay safe and take care on your journeys.
