🌊 Tragic Night at Fistral Beach 🌊

A heartbreaking incident unfolded at Newquay’s iconic Fistral Beach. Late Sunday evening, emergency services were called following reports of two individuals pulled from the sea. Despite the efforts of the coastguard, RNLI lifeboats, and an HM Coastguard helicopter, a man and a woman were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The call for help came around 9.30pm, prompting swift action from Coastguard Rescue Teams from Newquay, Padstow, and St Agnes. They worked tirelessly alongside Devon and Cornwall Police and ambulance services in this urgent rescue operation.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed: “Emergency services attended, and a cordon was put in place, which has since been removed.” The families of the deceased have been informed, and our hearts go out to them during this incredibly difficult time. A report is being prepared for the coroner.
The seaside community is in mourning, reminded of the unpredictable and sometimes perilous nature of the sea. Let’s hold the affected families in our thoughts and stay safe on the shores. 💔
