In a heart-wrenching case, 27-year-old Harry Webb lost his life while cycling to London Fields Lido for a swim. Harry, a music student originally from Crickhowell, Powys, had just moved into a new home when a speeding car, driven by Tiffany Treanor-Johnson, struck him. She was driving at a shocking 53mph in a 20mph zone, on Kenworthy Road, Hackney—a notorious spot for collisions.

Tiffany, only 24 at the time, admitted to causing Harry’s death by dangerous driving and was taken into custody immediately, with the judge expressing concerns she might not show up for her sentencing. Nitrous oxide, a now-illegal substance, was also found in her system, which had impaired her driving.

Harry’s heartbroken parents, who own Webbs of Crickhowell, were on the phone with him just moments before the crash. They expressed that road deaths must be taken seriously, highlighting the need for drivers to watch out for cyclists and pedestrians.

Detective Inspector Mark Braithwaite stated, “Harry’s life was cruelly stolen from him by Tiffany,” and recognised the family’s ordeal due to the lengthy investigation and trial preparations.

Our thoughts are with Harry’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Let’s all remember to be cautious and considerate on the roads to prevent such tragedies in the future. 🕊️💔 #JusticeForHarry #RoadSafety #CyclistSafety
