Tragedy struck at Porthkerry Beach in Barry as the body of 21-year-old Eliza Hannah Chaudhry was discovered on April 8th. Eliza was found immersed in water, and a recent inquest revealed the heartbreaking cause of her passing as “immersion in water.”
Born in Watford and residing in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, Eliza’s untimely death has left her family and the community in deep mourning. Her auntie identified her at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
The senior coroner for South Wales Central extended his heartfelt condolences to Eliza’s family during the opening of the inquest at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court, which is set to continue at a later date.
