Heartbreaking news from Bristol: Jamie Collins, a 21-year-old former student at the University of the West of England, was found dead in Filton with multiple stab wounds. His 23-year-old housemate, Zack Coughlan, has been charged with murder and remains in custody.

The tragic discovery was made in the early hours of April 9th at their shared home on Cleve Road. Avon and Somerset Police were called to this quiet neighbourhood, just six miles north of Bristol, where they launched an investigation that has left the community in shock.
Detective Chief Inspector Lucy Edgeworth has confirmed that the Crown Prosecution Service has authorised a murder charge against Coughlan. Authorities are supporting Jamie’s family, who are coping with this unimaginable loss, and have requested privacy during this time.

As the community grapples with this tragedy, visible police patrols have been increased in the area, and the University of the West of England is offering support to those affected. Further enquiries are being carried out, and the police appreciate residents’ patience as they continue their investigative work.
Our thoughts go out to all who knew Jamie, whose life was cut short in such a devastating way. Let’s all be respectful and mindful of this grieving family and community during such a difficult time. ❤️
