A heart-wrenching trial is underway as Thomas Morgan faces charges of allegedly murdering his girlfriend’s baby, five-month-old Jensen-Lee Dougal, in Clydach. The prosecution claims that in March 2024, during a fit of anger, Morgan violently shook the baby, resulting in catastrophic injuries. Jensen-Lee tragically passed away in his mother’s arms the next day.

Morgan, 28, denies the murder charge, as well as three counts of causing grievous bodily harm. The court heard that Morgan claims he found Jensen-Lee unresponsive, attempted CPR, and denies the allegations of violence. He reportedly told police he couldn’t call an ambulance due to a faulty phone and sought help from a neighbour instead.

Prosecution argues that the injuries were “purposefully inflicted” and inconsistent with Morgan’s account, as medics deemed Jensen-Lee’s condition irrecoverable. The trial, overseen by Mrs Justice Stacey, is expected to last four weeks, aiming to uncover the truth behind this devastating incident. We’ll keep you updated with the latest from court.
