The journey started when Zac mentioned a swollen testicle and abdominal pain, initially diagnosed as an infection. Only months later, after a private scan insisted upon by Clare, the true and devastating diagnosis was found: stage three testicular cancer.

Despite enduring 15 months of rigorous treatments, Zac passed away in November 2025. Clare believes if the cancer had been identified sooner, the outcome might have been different. Testicular cancer is curable in over 90% of cases if caught early, making awareness and immediate action crucial.

Zac was a vibrant young man who loved life. He was a student, a sports enthusiast, and an entrepreneur, having established a vintage clothing business, Forty Four Clothing. Even in his final days, Zac enjoyed ticking off bucket-list dreams, including a memorable trip to Amsterdam.

Zac’s friends and family have come together to honour his legacy with ‘Zac’s 44 Legacy Memorial Match Charity Day’, aiming to raise funds for Maggies Centres, a charity that supported the family tirelessly. Clare knows Zac would relish the event and be “the first one on the dance floor.”

Let’s honour Zac by raising awareness and making sure no one else has to endure such a heart-wrenching loss. If something feels off, don’t take no for an answer. Make sure to get checked and insist on a scan—early detection can make all the difference. 🕊️💪 #RememberZac #TesticularCancerAwareness
