The incident happened around 3:30 pm on Bank Holiday Monday, leaving her family and friends devastated. Chiedza was described as a bubbly, kind-hearted girl who loved church, cooking, and dreamed of becoming a nurse.
Despite being rushed to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, she sadly couldn’t be saved. Her grieving family is overwhelmed with gratitude for those who tried to help and would appreciate any prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
This tragedy marks the 13th water-related fatality during the UK’s ongoing heatwave. Just days before, other tragic losses included teens in Scotland and Oxford, reminding us all of the dangers the heatwave can bring.
