🚨 Major Train Disruption Alert! 🚨
A fire has sparked chaos on the railway, wreaking havoc on journeys between London Paddington and South Wales. If you’re planning to travel this route today, brace yourselves for potential delays and cancellations.
The fire, which ignited near the Severn Tunnel Junction, has blocked parts of the track. This has caused disruptions for Great Western Railway (GWR) services stretching from Carmarthen, Swansea, and Cardiff Central all the way to London Paddington, as well as routes connecting Cardiff to Exeter, Taunton, Portsmouth Harbour, and Penzance.
National Rail has reported delays of up to 60 minutes, with some trains cancelled or having adjusted routes. If you’re travelling between Newport (South Wales) and Bristol Parkway or Bristol Temple Meads, be prepared for significant hold-ups.
Unfortunately, disruptions may last until the day’s end. Check ahead if you have plans to ensure you’re up to date with the latest developments.
