Cardiff’s Cantonian High School has undergone an incredible transformation! Gone are the days of cramped, outdated classrooms plagued by squawking seagulls. Enter a state-of-the-art educational haven—where ambitions soar as high as the new 5G pitch on campus!
Visionary headteacher Andraea Davies couldn’t be more thrilled. Having once gazed from old classroom windows onto what is now a £110 million marvel, she’s set to lead not only Cantonian but also integrate with Woodlands High and Riverbank School by September. It’s a bold new chapter for Fairwater Community Campus, offering facilities like never before.
The new Cantonian High boasts modern science labs, dance studios, a gleaming sports hall, and even a hair and beauty course on the horizon. There’s something for everyone, from academic achievers to those seeking vocational paths, with plans for work experiences and local business collaborations already in the mix.
Year seven pupils are already singing praises, enjoying the space, light, and top-tier facilities. The canteen’s tastier menu is a big hit too! Older students might feel a tad envious but appreciate the inspiration a fresh environment brings, noticing the immediate uplift in school pride and even attendance rates.
Cantonian isn’t just a school—it’s a community hub. Plans to hire out sports facilities and open a community café mean the doors are very much open to everyone. Andraea wants pupils to not only succeed academically but to thrive at whatever path they choose.
This fabulous new building doesn’t just raise the bar academically; it sets the stage for lifelong success. Here’s to a bright future and newfound pride for Cantonian High and its vibrant community! 🎉🏫 #EducationUnlocked #Cardiff #CantonianPride
