🚧 Important Update for North Wales! 🚧

The iconic Menai Suspension Bridge, a vital link between Anglesey and mainland Wales, is now closed indefinitely. Following a detailed inspection, it was discovered that essential bolts on the bridge need replacing, making closure unavoidable. 🌉
High winds from Storm Amy have also led to disruptions, with gusts up to 85mph causing closures of the M48 Severn Bridge and sections of the M4 in South Wales. As a result, hundreds of homes are facing power cuts.

Transport Minister Ken Skates expressed his sincere apologies for the disruption this will cause, and assured locals that all efforts are being made to resolve the issue swiftly. “Your patience is appreciated as we prioritise safety,” he said.
Emergency service arrangements are in place should there be any issues with Britannia Bridge, the alternative route connecting Anglesey to the mainland. Police and engineers are working tirelessly to ensure minimal disruption.
No reopening date has been announced yet, but updates will continue as authorities push for a quick solution. In the meantime, please stay safe, keep an eye on the weather updates, and drive carefully if you’re out and about.
Let’s keep fingers crossed for a speedy repair! 🤞
