🍽️✨ Former MasterChef star, Gregg Wallace, is taking the BBC to court for £10,000, alleging “distress and harassment.” After being dismissed in July following a probe into past misconduct claims, Gregg is now demanding his personal data from the BBC and BBC Studios. Despite filing Subject Access Requests (SARs) in March seeking details about his work and conduct, Gregg’s requests have faced delays.

Court docs reveal that, although the BBC apologised for the lag in handling his request, Gregg is yet to receive any info. The broadcaster cited “freedom of expression” as the reason for withholding some of his data, which his barrister argues is misused.

Legal expert Lawrence Power states that the BBC’s failure to fully comply with Gregg’s data requests breaches statutory duties and has caused undue stress. Gregg is seeking damages not only for distress and harassment but also demands that his SARs be honoured in full.
