🔴 Drama at the World Snooker Championship! 🎱 Barry Hawkins suffered a heart-stopping 13-11 defeat at the quarter-final stage against Mark Allen. The match was a nail-biter, full of tension and incredible plays, but it was a crucial mistake that stole the spotlight.

Hawkins had the chance for an epic comeback after executing a surprising fluke on the last red. However, a misjudged cueing on the pink meant he handed the table back to Allen, who promptly sank the yellow and green to secure his place in the semi-finals. BBC commentator Steven Hallworth didn’t hold back, calling Hawkins’ blunder the ‘most ridiculous mistake you could possibly wish to see.’

Reflecting on the match, Hawkins was understandably gutted. “I threw a couple of frames away when I had the balls at my mercy,” he admitted. Despite the setback, Hawkins acknowledged Allen’s exceptional performance. “Mark was a little bit more clinical finishing the frames off. It was a great match to be involved in, but I’m obviously disappointed right now,” he shared.
Snooker legend Steve Davis empathised with Hawkins, saying, “It’s going to be tough for him to go to sleep tonight. We all feel for him. It’s horrible.” Fellow pundit Ken Doherty advised Barry to take a much-needed holiday to shake off the disappointment. 😓
Despite the loss, Hawkins can hold his head high after a solid season, climbing the rankings and securing a tournament victory. He’s now looking forward to some downtime before bouncing back for the next season. 🌟
