Undercover police apprehend young suspect for suspicious attire during heatwave

A teenage drug dealer in Cardiff found himself in quite a predicament after wearing a balaclava in the middle of summer caught the attention of local police. Marcus Creedy, 18, was spotted on August 13 near the Gabalfa flyover. Sporting a look more suited for winter, Creedy was seen interacting with people in two parked cars – a classic hint of something shady.

When officers suspected a drug deal, they moved in. Marcus tried to flee on his bike and even tossed a Nokia phone in a desperate attempt to rid himself of evidence. However, the chase was short-lived, and soon enough, he was caught and searched. The police found 30 bags of cocaine, nine bags of cannabis, two phones, and £110 in cash on him.

Back at his home, officers uncovered more cannabis and a grinder. Messages downloaded from his phones highlighted his dealings in cocaine, leading to his court appearance.

Despite pleading guilty to possessing drugs with intent to supply, the court heard that Marcus had a challenging life. He’d faced personal losses, had no prior convictions, and his actions were described as a misguided attempt to help his family. Sadly, at just 18, his school years weren’t smooth sailing – no qualifications and cannabis use since the tender age of 14.

Judge Hywel James handed Marcus a 20-month prison sentence, suspended for 22 months. He was also assigned 120 hours of unpaid work and 15 days of rehabilitation activities. This case serves as a stark reminder of how quickly life choices can lead down a troublesome path.
