🏉 Exciting times ahead for Welsh rugby! As the road to the 2027 Rugby World Cup gears up, head coach Steve Tandy has an eye on new talent and seasoned performers to form a strong squad. With less than two years until Wales takes the stage in Australia, Tandy’s challenge is crafting a team three-deep in quality for each position. Here’s a snapshot of the emerging squad:
🌟 **Back-Three Magic**: Louis Rees-Zammit is the standout star while Josh Adams and Ellis Mee bring experience. Watch out for potential stars like Tom Bowen and Aidan Boshoff pushing through!
🏉 **Centre Stage**: Joe Hawkins and Eddie James have shown promise, but the likes of Bryn Bradley and James Williams could shake things up. Will we see a breakthrough moment for Steff Emanuel?
🔁 **Dynamic Half Backs**: Dan Edwards holds the number 10 jersey, but Sam Costelow is not far behind. The scrum-half spot sees Tomos Williams leading, with Archie Hughes as a wildcard.
🔥 **Backrow Power**: Injuries won’t hold Jac Morgan back this summer. Aaron Wainwright dazzles as No 8 while promising names like Deian Gwynne and Kane James are catching eyes.
🔒 **Locks and Loaded**: Dafydd Jenkins and Ben Carter form the backbone, but new talents like Freddie Thomas are stepping up. Could we see Tahlor Cahill add to the mix?
🧤 **Hooking Competition**: Dewi Lake is front and centre after a stellar Six Nations. Emerging players like Lewis Lloyd and Tom Howe are raring for a chance to shine.
👟 **Prop Prospects**: Rhys Carré leads the way with a solid performance during the Six Nations. But tighthead remains a challenge where depth is key with potential talents like Jac Pritchard on the horizon.
It’s all eyes on Tandy as he crafts a mix of seasoned players and fresh faces to dominate in Australia. The journey to 2027 is filled with anticipation and opportunity.
