A local taxi driver has faced the music after transporting children to school without the right licence. David Rhydian Thomas from Windy Corner Coaches was fined over £2,000 after a crackdown by the council discovered he didn’t have the necessary Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Dual Driver’s Licence.
Despite a warning back in 2024, Thomas continued to drive kids to school on five occasions last October using a private hire vehicle. As a result, he pleaded guilty and now faces fines, victim surcharges, and hefty costs.
Cllr Aled Vaughan Owen, responsible for enforcement, emphasised, “The safety of children and the public is our absolute priority.”
