🐾 Unbelievable Discovery in Wales! 🌳 One of Britain’s rarest mammals, a tiny two-week-old pine marten kit, was found at the bottom of a rubbish bin in Powys! Weighing in at just 105 grams, this little one was discovered alongside its sadly deceased siblings. Once abundant across the UK, pine martens faced a severe decline due to habitat loss and hunting. These shy creatures, part of the mustelid family along with otters and badgers, are slowly making a comeback. This adorable kit’s admission is a hopeful sign that populations might be recovering.

The hospital hopes to keep the kit until late August unless they luckily find another rescue with a similar-aged companion. By then, they plan to collaborate with other organisations to locate a perfect release site.
