🏉 What a throwback! Remember that unforgettable England vs Argentina rugby game in France back in 2022? It’s still got everyone talking! 🤔
In a bizarre twist that seemed to defy the usual rugby playbook, England’s Will Homer found himself in prime position to score. But instead of rushing to ground the ball, he chose the road less travelled—or, in this case, the try line less used—for about two whole minutes! 🕒
Spectators were on the edge of their seats, wondering what on earth he was doing, while the ref tried urging him to ground the ball. But with Argentina down to six men and both teams set to advance anyway, he was in no hurry! 🏃♂️💨
This cheeky time-wasting resulted in Argentina taking the game 19-7, catapulting them to the finals. Although Nigel Owens wasn’t too impressed, saying it went “against the spirit of the game,” it was surely a rugby first that still has tongues wagging! 🤯
Miss the action? World Rugby Sevens shared the moment with a caption that says it all: “Unique. Bizarre. Controversial.” And controversial it certainly was! What do you think—was it clever tactics or not in the spirit of rugby? Share your thoughts! 🙌
