🏃♂️🏃♀️ The 2026 London Marathon is here, and the prize money is bigger than ever! 🎉 This year, the London Marathon continues its trend-setting ways by offering equal prize money for all elite categories. That’s right—Elite Men, Elite Women, Wheelchair Men, and Wheelchair Women will each win a whopping £41,000 for first place! 💷
But it’s not just about the top spot. Deep pockets ensure rewards down to 10th place in the able-bodied races and 12th in the wheelchair categories. Second place gets a cool £22,200, and third takes £16,000. 💪💸
And for those who are up for the challenge, breaking the course record could snag you an additional £18,500! 🤯 With the top male time set at 2:01:25 and the female time at 2:16:16, there’s plenty of incentive to push the pace.
But wait, there’s more! Set a world record and bag a staggering £92,500. 🏆 For truly historic performances, there are even time bonuses—for example, a sub-2:02 for men and sub-2:15 for women could haul in up to £111,000 extra! 🥇💎
British athletes won’t be left behind, as there’s a special bonus just for the fastest British man and woman, making sure local talent shines. 🌟🇬🇧
In total, this year’s prize pot for the elite races tops an impressive £444,000. Combine that with the millions raised for charity, and the London Marathon remains one of the most financially impactful events on the global sporting stage. 🙌❤️
