Shocking news has surfaced about the tragic murder of Paria Veisi, whose life was brutally cut short by her husband, Alireza Askari. A chilling tale unfolds as Askari, 42, took the life of his 37-year-old wife, Paria, by stabbing her in the neck and chest at their Cardiff home. In a grim twist, his aunt, Maryam Delavary, 48, assisted him in covering up the crime by helping bury Paria’s body in their garden.

Paria was reported missing by loved ones, with her body found days later in a makeshift grave. Alireza initially denied murder but later admitted to the horrifying act, receiving a jail sentence of 25 years. His aunt, Maryam, who travelled from London to Cardiff to aid her nephew, has been sentenced to five years and six months for her role.

The court heard harrowing details of that fateful day. Paria, last seen in her black Mercedes, had returned to Foster Drive following a phone call with her estranged husband. Unexpectedly attacked with knives procured earlier that day, she had no chance to defend herself. To evade suspicion, Askari even sent messages from Paria’s phone posing as her.
The tragic loss has left the community heartbroken, with friends and family remembering Paria as a kind soul who brought joy wherever she went. Her hairdressing clients and friends all speak of her vibrant spirit and the void she leaves behind.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell commended Paria’s family for their bravery throughout the ordeal and expressed hope that the convictions provide them some comfort. He also acknowledged the community’s support during the investigation, especially in Penylan, where this horrific event unfolded. May Paria’s memory live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
