Heads up, nature enthusiasts! 📸⛰️ New solar-powered ANPR cameras are about to go live at two popular parking spots in Eryri near Llyn Tegid. The stunning beauty spot has been a favourite for many, but with that fame comes the challenge of managing the influx of visitors. 🚗

Last summer saw roads blocked and local areas overwhelmed by cars and campervans, leaving farmers struggling to access their fields and residents frustrated with blocked driveways. To tackle these issues, the authorities are stepping up their game with enhanced parking management. 🚫🚐

The new systems will initially roll out as a trial this summer to better understand visitor flows and inform future plans. With these cameras in place, the goal is to discourage illegal and inconsiderate parking, ensuring a smoother visit for everyone. 🅿️

Parking hours have been updated, now restricting overnight stays to tackle the pesky problem of unauthorised stopovers. While these changes are necessary, there are hopes that it won’t just shift the problem elsewhere—particularly onto nearby roads. 🚧
In addition to the cameras, we’ve got spruced-up toilet facilities and increased parking spaces from 60 to 92 at Llangower! Plus, to deter any anti-social behaviour, CCTV has been installed at the north shore car park. 🌿
With better facilities and smarter management, let’s work together to preserve the beauty of Llyn Tegid for all to enjoy responsibly. 📷✨
Please be considerate, and let’s keep this gem of North Wales pristine and accessible! 💚
