Get ready, Wales! Snow is on its way next week, and it looks like it’s going to be a significant event. According to weather forecasts, the Met Office anticipates snow spreading across large parts of the country from Monday night through Wednesday. Locations from Pembrokeshire to Caernarfon are in the snow zone, with predictions suggesting up to 22cm could blanket Welsh mountains!

Meanwhile, Scotland is set for even heavier snowfall, with a whopping 70cm expected. The north and northeast of England aren’t being left out either, as they’re also in the path of significant snowfall.

As the temperatures drop, don’t be surprised if you wake up to a winter wonderland. By Tuesday lunchtime, the thermometer is expected to dive below zero across wide areas of Wales according to forecasts. Aidan McGivern, a meteorologist from the Met Office, predicts this cold snap could result in some serious snow for Wales, the Midlands, and further north.
It’s not just snow we need to prepare for; a mix of wild weather is on the cards. Heavy rainfall is expected across southern Wales and the southwest of England, with gusty winds reaching up to 60mph in coastal areas. A yellow weather warning has been issued, highlighting rainfalls of 20-30mm in many areas, with up to 80mm in high spots like the Brecon Beacons.
So, whether you’re welcoming the snow with open arms or preparing to hunker down inside, make sure to stay updated on the weather warnings and travel safe.
