🚨 Update for all drivers out there! 🚨 The M48 Severn Bridge is currently closed in both directions due to a police incident. Gwent Police and the air ambulance are on the scene, creating significant delays on this bank holiday Monday. The bridge closure is affecting traffic between junctions one (Aust) and two (Chepstow), so if you’re planning to hit the road, you might want to reroute via the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge instead.
According to Traffic England, a medical emergency on the westbound entry slip at junction J1 is the reason for the closure, with predictions pointing to delays until around 5pm. Avon and Somerset Police are handling the situation, and South Western Ambulance Service and National Highways teams are already onsite.
Stay tuned for more updates and plan your journey accordingly to avoid getting stuck! Keep safe on the roads, everyone! 🚗💨
