🚦 Big Changes on the A477! 🚦

Attention drivers and residents in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire—changes are coming to one of Wales’ most notoriously “frightening” junctions on the A477! 🎉

For over a decade, the Red Roses junction has been giving drivers heart palpitations with its sharp 90-degree turn at the bottom of a hill, leaving motorists with little room to manoeuvre away from fast-moving traffic. 🌪️ It’s been a hot topic of complaints due to countless collisions and close calls.

After relentless efforts from local councillors, community members, and Member of Senedd (MS) Samuel Kurtz, the Welsh Government has nodded to the demands for safety improvements. 🚗💨
Here’s what’s on the menu:
– ⚠️ New road markings and enhanced signage to grab your attention
– 🛑 Bollards to cue you into safer driving
– 📉 A speed review in Milton, where the road winds between Kilgetty and Pembroke Dock
This isn’t just a one-and-done deal. The plan is to keep pushing for more safety measures across the route and other potential accident hotspots—so hooray for continuous improvements! 🚀
Ken Skates, our trusty transport minister, assures us that the changes won’t just stick at Red Roses. With speed surveys and enhanced collaboration with Dyfed-Powys Police and GoSafe, more safety overhauls could be in the pipeline. 🛠️
A pat on the back to everyone who kept this issue in the spotlight and pushed for change—these efforts are about to make daily commutes a whole lot safer. Let’s keep the pressure on and make all our roads safer! 🚧✨
