🚨 Major Call for Action at Ysgol Greenhill! 🚨
Big news coming from Ysgol Greenhill in Tenby! Councillors are pushing for a huge overhaul or a complete rebuild of the school after more than 700 structural defects were discovered. 🏫🔧
Earlier this year, emergency repairs kicked off with a whopping £0.5m contract to patch things up. But now, members of Pembrokeshire County Council believe it’s time to go beyond just patching holes. 🏗️
During a recent inspection, both staff and students shared their concerns over the school’s condition. Although the school was lifted out of special measures back in 2022, there’s still significant work to be done, particularly on boosting attendance and improving reading levels post-Covid. 📚
The head teacher, David Haynes, who’s been leading the charge since 2021, has received praise for his ‘strong leadership’. The school’s also working closely with other local schools to enhance Welsh language education. 🗣️🏴
The inspection report highly commended the school’s recent strides in improvement, yet also stressed the need for long-term solutions. It highlighted the need for fresh partnerships and resources to aid both Welsh language and literacy progress. 📈
Final decisions are eagerly awaited, but one thing’s clear: the future of Ysgol Greenhill is a hot topic and help is on the way! 🙌
