🏉 Exciting news, rugby fans! Wales legend Allan Bateman is lacing up his boots once again at the ripe age of 61! 🏆 He’ll be taking the field for a special match at Penarth RFC, reviving a historic Good Friday tradition.

🔥 The Penarth club, recovering from a devastating fire last December, is set to face a unique Barbarians side at the Penarth Recreation Ground. This match will not only celebrate 125 years of fixtures but also help raise funds to support the club’s recovery efforts.

The last showdown between these two iconic teams was back in 1986, but the tradition dates all the way back to 1901! This Friday, expect to see familiar faces like Andy Powell and Bradley Davies join Bateman, along with talented community players from Welsh division one and the Championship.
With rugby legend Nigel Owens set to referee and Tom Shanklin taking on the role of compere, this event is shaping up to be unforgettable! Former Welsh international Allan Martin will be there to present the match shirts, and British and Irish Lions prop Adam Jones will host a post-match talk.
💪 Every penny raised will go towards rebuilding and rejuvenating the club, turning it into a community hub for future generations.
Join the celebration of history, rugby spirit, and community resilience! Kick-off is at 2pm this Good Friday. Don’t miss out on this legendary comeback! #RugbyLegends #CommunitySpirit #BarbariansMatch
