🚰💧 Wales Needs You: Drought Declared! 💧🚰

Attention everyone in Wales! A drought has been declared in parts of the country, including north Wales and the Upper Severn. With our weather patterns changing, we’re facing wetter winters and drier summers, putting a strain on our water resources. 🌧️🌞

It’s time to make small but impactful changes in our daily routines to help conserve water. Here are some easy tips:
1. Keep showers to four minutes.
2. Turn off the tap when brushing.
3. Use eco-mode on your dishwasher.
4. Repair any dripping taps.
5. Reuse kitchen water where possible.
6. Check your loo for leaks.
7. Consider installing a smart meter.
8. Only wash full loads in the machine.
9. Clean cars using a sponge, not a hosepipe.
10. Invest in a water butt for your garden.
As of July 19, mid and south Ceredigion, parts of north Pembrokeshire, and north Carmarthenshire are under a hosepipe ban due to high demand. This affects about 33,000 properties, and the ban will lift once water usage returns to sustainable levels. 🚱
Welsh Water is currently supplying 20% more drinking water than usual, so every drop you save counts! 💦
Also, with dry conditions increasing the risk of wildfires, we need to be vigilant. Fires have already broken out in north Wales, with a major blaze in Blaenavon burning for days. If you spot a wildfire, move to safety and call 999 immediately.
Enjoy the great outdoors? Remember to tread lightly and keep this beautiful land safe!
🌱 Let’s work together, Wales. Every small effort makes a big difference. 💪❤️
Stay updated and keep saving water! 🌍
