🍻 **Thinking of pocketing that pint glass? Think again!**

Jeremy Clarkson, in the latest series of Clarkson’s Farm, shines a light on a sneaky habit causing headaches for pubs across the UK. Highlighting his own pub, The Farmer’s Dog, Jeremy revealed they lose around 400 pint glasses each week! It’s not just his venue; glass theft is a massive issue nationwide.
A staggering 17 million Brits admit to sneaking home glassware from pubs, bars, or restaurants. This contributes to over 2.1 million alcohol-related thefts every year. As supply costs surge by an average of 78% over the past decade, the hospitality sector is feeling the pinch. Glass theft alone is draining over ÂŁ133 million annually from the industry.

Laura Court-Jones from Bionic warns us: “What seems like a tiny act of mischief puts a big dent in the budgets of pubs and bars already struggling with rising costs. Each venue could be losing nearly ÂŁ2,000 every year because of this.”
Stealing a glass might seem harmless, but it is still theft. Pub landlords can and do refuse service, and some may even bar those caught red-handed. In serious cases, the police might get involved. While jail time is off the cards, you could face a fine or a criminal record. Is that souvenir glass really worth it?
Let’s support our favourite pubs this summer by leaving all glasses where they belong! 🍺💡
