🏃♂️🌦 Get ready for an unforgettable Cardiff Half Marathon this Sunday, 5th October! 🌦🏃♀️

With nearly 30,000 eager runners set to hit the streets, Cardiff’s biggest race promises a thrilling atmosphere. The good news? Mother Nature is mostly on your side! Expect a vibrant mix of sunny intervals, starting at a cool 13°C at 10am, and peaking at a comfortable 15°C.

Worried about rain? Fret not. While the rest of Wales may experience some showers, there’s just a 30% chance of rain gracing our capital. It seems runners can keep those waterproofs tucked away and focus on the race without the worry of a soaking. 🌞

But it’s not all clear skies. Storm Amy, the UK’s first named storm of the season, will stir up some winds from Friday to Saturday, hitting parts of the north with gusts up to 60mph. Cardiff might feel a brisk 44mph wind on Saturday, but thankfully, it’ll ease to a bearable 24mph by race day. 🌬️
The weekend forecast includes a few weather warnings across the UK, so do check your local updates if you’re travelling. Despite these odds, Sunday in Cardiff looks promising for all the amazing participants ready to conquer the course!
And here’s a heads-up for future runners: due to overwhelming enthusiasm for this year’s event, next year’s entries will follow a ballot system akin to major marathons like London. So, keep those fingers crossed next time!
Get excited, gear up, and remember to cheer on our dedicated runners. Who’s ready to create some epic memories on those city streets? 🎉👟
