π **Coastal Alert This Weekend! Stay Safe with Tide Tips!** π

Heading to the coast for half-term fun? Be aware of the tides! The RNLI’s urging everyone to stay cautious this weekend due to changing tides that could leave you stranded. π

“February half-term is perfect for seaside strolls, but keep an eye on those tides,” says RNLI’s Chris Cousens. The spring tides are set to be bigger, meaning water might come in quicker and further than usual. Even spots that aren’t usually affected could become cut off.

ποΈ **Sully Island Warning**: This place is known for tidal cut-offs. Luckily, RNLI volunteers are on-site to share safety advice. They started their patrols this half-term and will be back in March.
If you’re planning a coastal adventure, make sure to:
– Check tide times before you go.
– Ask locals if you’re unsure about tide tables.
– Always have a way to call for helpβkeep that mobile charged! π±
Find yourselves in trouble? Dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Remember, if you’re in water difficulty, **Float to Live**: tilt your head back, relax, spread your limbs like a starfish, and wave for help once calm.
Enjoy the beauty of our coastlines, but safety first! Chris Cousens adds, “We want you to love the coast, just donβt forget your safety gear!”
Stay safe and have fun! πποΈ #CoastalSafety #RNLI #HalfTermAdventures
