🚧 Heads up, folks! Major M4 disruption this weekend! 🚧

Planning a trip via the M4? Brace yourself—a large section of it will be completely closed in both directions from Friday evening until early Monday morning. 🎯 That’s the stretch between Junction 18 (Bath) to Junction 19 (M32), all sealing off at 7 PM on Friday, as work leaps ahead on the new A432 Badminton Road Bridge.

Why all the hassle? Massive steel girders will be installed, aka a big milestone in the bridge’s construction. 🏗️ While this landmark project progresses, drivers should expect lengthy delays on one of Wales’ busiest routes. Best advice? Steer clear of this area, plan an alternate path, or try travelling during less hectic hours to skirt around the clogged traffic.
Not all doom and gloom—they’ve sorted a signed diversion route! Westbound traffic will detour via the A46 and A420 before joining the A4174 towards the M32 at Junction 1, looping back to the M4 at Junction 19. Eastbound? Just reverse this detour.
For those relying on National Express services this weekend, your ride’s still on but a few stops will take a pause until Monday—that’s Cardiff, Chepstow, and a few others. If your plans get tangled, they’re offering free ticket changes. 🎟️
So, give yourself a breather—allow extra time, maybe catch some radio tunes, and keep it chill. National Highways appreciates your patience during these works, meant to enhance the long-term safety and reliability of your journey!
Stay safe, stay updated, and don’t forget—better bridges are just around the corner! 😊
